Steps to make Chhilka roti:
- For chhilka roti: drain rice and chana daal already soaked in water for 3 to 4 hours. Tahe a mixer jar and add rice, chana daal, salt, and red chillies and grinder them to make a soft paste with small amount of water.
- Add more water and coriander leaves and mix them all to make a thin free flowing better.
- Now heat a pan grease it and pour some better on it and spread well, cover with a lid for about 1 min and then heat it from other side too. Chhilka roti is ready to serve.
- For chana daal, boil chana daal with water, haldi and salt.
- Now take a pan heat oil in it and add curry leaves, rai, jeera and saute for few seconds till they get change in colour. Add onion and saute till onions get light brown colour, now add tomatoes, green chillies and saute for 2 mins. Add boiled chana daal and mash some chana daal with the help of your service spoon to give your daal a thick texture. Boil for 1 min and garnish with coriander leaves. Chana daal is ready too.
- For naariyal chutney, take a mixer grinder jar put naariyal pieces, green chilli, salt, curd, roasted chana and grind them all to smooth paste.
- Now heat oil in a pan add rai, curry leaves and urad daal and heat them till urad daal gets pink colour. Switch off your gas and add nariyal mixture to it and mix them well. Nariyal chutney is ready too.
- For lehsun tamatar chutney, roast tomatoes and lehsun on flame and peel them. Now heat mustard oil and roast kalonji in it for few seconds and mix and mash all ingredients all together. You can grind them as I did. Lehsun tamatar chutney is ready too.
- I decorated all my preparation in a plate with maida birds by making maida dough with water, baking powder and salt and giving my shape of two birds making their eyes with black pepper and steam my maida birds for 10 mins, after they get cool I colour them with food colour.
